Test data preparation
Test data for validation of chem/bioinformatics software products is obtained from sources like published literature, (J. Med. Chem., Journal of Biological Chemistry, PNAS, Nature Biotechnology, BMC Bioinfomatics etc.,) and public domain (PubMed, NCI databases, NCBI, EMBL, Rx list, other web resources).

We generate training sets for testing and validation of each software module depending on its functionality. For instance, to validate cLogP algorithm a data set of marketed drugs and their experimentally determined LogP values is generated and algorithm is validated against different algorithms using this training set.

Different file formats representing a data set are used for compatibility testing. For example SDFile, SMILES, Mol File formats are used in compatibility test of software tools involving structure editors, structure searches, physico chemical property computations, Lipinski Rules (Rule of Five), molecule diversity etc.,
