At Siri, we recognized
the need for having strong
processes, right in our
budding stages. A carefully
compiled set of processes
that drove the delivery
engine, later evolved into
an industry-strength framework
that helped us achieve ISO
9001:1994 certification
in March 2000.
Following that, we continued
working on more quantitative
process controls. This resulted
in a successful assessment
at SEI CMM Level 4 in December
2002. Subsequently, Siri
was re-certified ISO 9001
under the 2000 draft.
Siri frequently assists
its clients in streamlining
their own processes, by
adapting and applying the
wealth of process improvements
witnessed internally. These
span software life cycle
and support activities,
as well as business workflows
themselves.
The next identified milestone
in our journey of continuous
process improvement is a
successful assessment at
SEI CMMI Level 5. Also being
implemented is a major improvement
to our information security
systems, to enable an ISO
27001 certification.
